Sortilegio
(Sorcery) is the name of a duo formed by the Spanish songwriters
Laura Trinidad and Diego Salas. They have been performing since
1998.
They
have gigged all over Spain, -among other places Málaga,
Granada, Madrid, Barcelona-. They have also performed in Liverpool,
England, for example in The Cavern -the pub made famous by The
Beatles- and in Williamson Square in the festival organised by
the BBC.
In
2002 Laura studied music in “Liverpool Community College,
The Arts Centre”. At the same time she worked as a Spanish
teacher.
Recently
they have awarded several prizes in songwriters' competitions
as in 'V Certamen de jóvenes cantautores de Elche' and
'III Encuentro Intergeneracional de Cantautores' in Granada.
They
have recorded some of their songs in compilation CDs: Boquerones
Solidarios II, Jóvenes Cantautores Elche 2003 and Nómadas
2004.
Currently
they are working on a demo CD including some of their songs.
Sortilegio
was performing in the Fringe, -famous Arts Festival in Edinburgh,
Scotland- in August, from the 19th until the 30th of 2004. |
